Macrame Scarf

$47.00

These 100% Alpaca scarves come to you directly from the Heart of the Andes Mountains. They are Handwoven in an Artisan Cooperative of Traditional Weavers in the Altiplano of Bolivia, over 12,000 ft. above sea level. Our cooperative is in its 7th year of active production, from the beginning we have followed strict Fair Trade Guidelines. Our scarves measure 12" x 70" and are available in any of the 10 colors shown. For each product purchased, Circle of the Sun plants a tree in the developing world. Each Macrame design is unique to the Woman who made it, creating a very elegant look and feel. In our cooperative, men do the weaving; then women hand-tie the Macrame and finish each piece. Our artisans are paid by the piece, with their wage set on a typical 8 hr. working day. The average pay is above national living wage for the country of Bolivia, and exceeds Fair Wage Guidelines. Our organization also works to deliver relief in the form of Sustainable Development to the communities where we work. Thank you for supporting Circle of the Sun!
