Houndstooth Scarf

These 100% Alpaca scarves come to you directly from the Heart of the Andes Mountains. They are Handwoven in an Artisan Cooperative of Traditional Weavers in the Altiplano of Bolivia, over 12,000 ft. above sea level. Our cooperative is in its 6th year of active production, from the beginning we have followed strict Fair Trade Guidelines. Our traditional Houndstooth Scarves measure 12" x 70" and are available in the unique color options shown. They are woven using two complimentary natural color tones to bring out the weave design. Upon choosing, include your color choice in the note field. Of the several grades of Alpaca Fibers these are made of one of the finest available, creating a very elegant & finished look and feel. Typically in our cooperative, men do the weaving; then women hand-tie and finish each end. Our artisans are paid by the piece, with their wage set on a typical 8 hr. working day. The average pay is above national living wage for the country of Bolivia, and exceeds Fair Wage Guidelines.
